KarunA Day Spa has a team of qualified multi-skilled therapists with a passion for their work and the beauty industry.
Meet Ashleigh
Ashleigh is the owner and lead therapist at Karuna Day Spa. She is a qualified somatologist and has more than 10 years' experience in the beauty and wellness industry. She spent the early years of her career working for upmarket spas and salons in Johannesburg before relocating to the Lowveld to pursue her own aspirations. Ashleigh took the leap and founded KarunA Day Spa, located at The Farm House just a few kilometers outside the town of Hoedspruit. Through KarunA, she had the opportunity to work at some magnificent lodges in the area and loves helping clients see
that, through self-care and self-nurture, they are each uniquely beautiful.
Ashleigh has always been familiar with the beauty industry growing up with a therapist mom and being inspired by her. Her mom had a salon at home where one was always made aware of the clients’ need for peace and tranquility. With this background she followed in her mom’s footsteps and study a 2-year somatology course through Success International in Johannesburg. She was especially interested in the anatomy and physiology of the human body. The more she studied, the more amazed she was at how incredible and unique the human body really is. This is where her passion stems from.
In order to finalise her qualification, she had to invest many hours as an intern in different salons and spas to build up the required field experience. This included busy salons where treatments were quick as well as spas where relaxation was priority. After obtaining her qualification, Ashleigh started working as a full-time therapist alongside many experts in the industry, including having the opportunity to work with a plastic surgeon.
She relocated to Hoedspruit and is still passionate about her career and her clients.

Connie, the lively and vibrant member of our spa team! Always wearing a smile and radiating positivity, Connie is our little firecracker, eager to assist wherever she's needed. As the daughter of Sandy, her passion for the beauty industry runs deep, and she complements her natural enthusiasm with a solid year of training as a therapist in Johannesburg.
Connie's dedication shines through in her work, and her passion for learning makes her a quick study. We are thrilled to have her on our team and are eagerly anticipating her professional growth. With her warm and friendly presence, Connie adds a special touch to the spa experience, and we can't wait to see her continue to thrive in the industry.

When we first encountered Nastasha, her eyes lit up with passion as she immersed herself in conversation about the industry. Leah joined Karuna Day Spa in May 2024, and her radiant smile and warm personality make her an ideal fit as our front-of-house representative. She is the friendly voice you hear when calling to book an appointment, ensuring each client feels welcome from the very first greeting. Leah expertly manages bookings and oversees the smooth day-to-day operations of the spa.
